We are seeking a permanent morning Dog Handler/ Kennel Attendant to join our team! You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals at our facility, along with their exercise, training, feeding and general facility cleaning. The shift is 7 am to 1 pm OR 7 am to 3 pm. Priority will be given to candidates that can work at least one day of the weekend. All staff members must have a reliable method of transportation as public transit is not available in our area. *Responsibilities:* - Exercising the dogs both mentally and physically, including structured daily walks, group/pack activities, treadmill sessions, basic grooming, obedience, and individual attention. - Confidently walking dogs on leash using a variety of training tools. - Supervising dogs using a variety of training tools. - Feeding and administering oral and topical medications as per owner instructions. - Maintaining client relations through detailed and friendly check ins/outs. - Documentation of daily staff notes and client charts. - Taking daily pictures of the dogs and uploading them to our private staff page. - Cleaning of the facilities, kennel units and exercise areas. *Qualifications:* - Previous professional experience in animal care - Passion for animal care and a desire to learn new dog care and training skills - Ability to confidently supervise dogs of all breeds, temperaments, ages and sizes - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - Ability to perform all job duties to a high standard in a safe and responsible manner - Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to be on one's feet and walking for several hours in a day - Ability to lift dogs and items of up to 50 lbs If you think you would be a good fit for this role, please submit your application by e-mail or by responding directly to this posting.
