Position Title: Research CoordinatorDepartment: Rankin School of NursingPosition Type: Temporary, Part-Time (0.5 FTE, 18.75 hours/week), 12-month Term (possibility of renewal, subject to funding)Salary Range: $25-35/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experiencePosting Date: August 4, 2026Closing Date: August 17, 2026This is a part-time grant-funded Research Coordinator position at St. Francis Xavier University, working with Dr. Britney Benoit, Principal Investigator, Dr. Sydney Breneol, Co-Principal Investigator (Acadia University), Patti Douglas, Co-Knowledge User (Maritime Child Health), and Virginia MacIntyre, Co-Knowledge User (People in Pain Network).The Research Coordinator will work on partnered research and a quality improvement initiative aimed at exploring and strengthening pediatric pain assessment and management practices across Nova Scotia. This work uses an implementation science approach to supporting the implementation and adoption of Canada's new Health Standards Organization National Pediatric Pain Management Standard (CAN/HSO 13200:2023). This is a primarily remote position, with some travel required in locations across Nova Scotia.In addition to this core project, the Research Coordinator may contribute to other research and quality improvement activities with a particular focus on maternal, child, and family health as capacity permits.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day project management and coordination across all phases of this workDeveloping and maintaining project timelinesEnsuring adherence to ethics requirementsManaging data collection and management logistics across clinical sitesSupervising research assistants and traineesLiaising with various partner organizationsCoordinating, conducting and assisting with retrospective chart auditsCoordinating, conducting, and assisting with qualitative focus groups and interviewsContributing to data analysis and synthesisContributing to developing evidence summariesCoordinating project team meetings and workshopsQualificationsMaster's degree in a health-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceExperience in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs, as well as quality improvement initiativesExperience in partnered co-design research and implementation science is an assetTCPS 2: CORE Certification requiredExperience with preparing and managing Research Ethics Board applications and renewalsExperience with REDCap is an assetExperience with quantitative data analysis and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, or STATA) is an assetExperience conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups is an assetAbility to work independently, while also collaborating with large interdisciplinary research teamsExperience working in health care settings or with health care partners is an assetDemonstrated track record of strong communication and leadership skillsExperience with manuscript writing and presentationsApplication reviews will begin on August 17, 2026 and will continue until position is filled.
