<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><b><strong>Front Desk Receptionist:</strong></b></p><p>The Backyard Club is a premium indoor pickleball, fitness, and social club opening in Vaughan. We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and organized Reception Staff member to support our front desk, member experience, and daily club operations.</p><p>This person will be one of the first faces members and guests see when they enter TBC, so they should be welcoming, professional, and comfortable helping people in a busy club environment.</p><p>Role Overview</p><p>The Reception Staff member will support daily front desk operations, including member check-ins, guest support, bookings, payments, open play coordination, basic facility monitoring, and general club assistance.</p><p>This is a hands-on role. The right person should be comfortable helping wherever needed to keep the club running smoothly.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>Member & Guest Experience</p><ul><li>Welcome members, guests, partners, and event attendees as they enter the club</li><li>Check members and guests in using the club's booking / membership system</li><li>Answer questions about memberships, court bookings, open play, events, guest passes, club rules, and facility amenities</li><li>Provide friendly and professional support in person, by phone, and by email</li><li>Help create a positive, premium, and community-focused environment</li></ul><p>Front Desk Operations</p><ul><li>Manage member check-ins, guest waivers, guest passes, day passes, and basic account updates</li><li>Assist with court booking questions, cancellations, payments, and member inquiries</li><li>Monitor the front desk area and direct members and guests to the correct courts, programs, or areas</li><li>Support daily opening and/or closing procedures</li><li>Keep the reception area organized, clean, and presentable at all times</li></ul><p>Open Play Support</p><ul><li>Help manage open play check-ins and player flow</li><li>Direct players to the appropriate courts and open play levels</li><li>Assist with organizing rotations, waitlists, and court usage during open play sessions</li><li>Monitor open play areas to help ensure fair, smooth, and respectful play</li><li>Communicate open play rules and expectations to members and guests</li><li>Escalate any player issues, disputes, safety concerns, or rule violations to management</li></ul><p>Facility Support</p><ul><li>Complete regular walk-throughs of courts, lounges, bathrooms, gym areas, hallways, and common spaces</li><li>Help keep the facility clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift</li><li>Restock basic supplies such as towels, toilet paper, soap, cups, and other member-use items as needed</li><li>Report maintenance, cleanliness, safety, or member issues to management</li><li>Support basic set-up and reset of courts or club areas when needed</li></ul><p>Events & Programming Support</p><ul><li>Assist with tournaments, leagues, clinics, open houses, corporate events, and soft opening activations</li><li>Help with event check-in, waivers, guest lists, court assignments, and guest flow</li><li>Support vendors, partners, sponsors, and coaches during events as directed by management</li></ul><p>Qualification</p><ul><li>Previous reception, hospitality, fitness club, recreation facility, or customer service experience preferred</li></ul><p>The ideal candidate is:</p><ul><li>Warm, friendly, and welcoming</li><li>Reliable and consistent</li><li>Comfortable speaking with members and guests</li><li>Hands-on and willing to help wherever needed</li><li>Clean, organized, and detail-oriented</li><li>Able to manage busy periods and player flow calmly</li><li>Able to represent TBC's premium but approachable brand</li><li>Excited to be part of a new club and help shape the member experience from the beginning</li><li>Strong communication and people skills</li><li>Comfortable using computers, POS systems, booking software, and basic email tools</- Location Concord, ONL4K 2P3
