*Pay:* CA$50.00?CA$75.00 per hour (based on experience) Lead Hand Journeyman HVAC Technician Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated *Lead Hand Journeyman HVAC Technician* to join our growing team in Burnaby, BC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician, strong commercial HVAC expertise, and proven leadership abilities. As a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing field crews, coordinating projects, mentoring apprentices and technicians, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will continue to perform hands-on HVAC work while serving as the primary point of contact for technicians, project managers, and customers on site. Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Coordination * Lead and supervise HVAC technicians and apprentices on service and installation projects. * Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, materials, and equipment requirements. * Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members. * Ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to company standards. * Communicate effectively with project managers, dispatch, customers, and other trades. * Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Technical Responsibilities * Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, air conditioners, make-up air units, and ventilation systems. * Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues and implement effective solutions. * Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system commissioning. * Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and mechanical plans. * Ensure all installations and repairs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. * Complete service reports, deficiency reports, and project documentation accurately and promptly. * Assist with estimating materials, equipment requirements, and project planning when required. Qualifications & Requirements * Red Seal Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic Certification. * Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician. * Previous Lead Hand, Foreman, or supervisory experience preferred. * Strong commercial HVAC troubleshooting and installation experience. * Valid Class 5 Driver?s License with a clean driving record. * Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. * Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings. * Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
