Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Verify stock availability from current inventories. Inspect and evaluate material and equipment for compliance to standards. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Welding techniques: Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Overtime required. Personal suitability: Organized. Team player.
