<div> </div> <p><strong></strong></p> <p><strong>Community Support Worker</strong><br><br> </p> <div>The Community Support Worker supports the capacity of schools as hubs within communities to strategically gather and deploy school-community services and resources in ways that attain better outcomes for students, families and surrounding neighborhoods.</div><div><br><br></div> <div></div> <div><strong>Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:</strong></div><p>?Student School Readiness</p><p>?Increase family, community and student engagement</p><p>?facilitate and/or coordinate workshops or support to groups, parenting skills and other student needs;</p><p>?Support families of students who have attendance issues;</p><p>?refer and/or facilitate learners access to resources in the community, social services, professional services and government programs;</p><p>?advocate for clients with institutions, landlords, etc.;</p><p>?maintain client records and provide continual updates to Principals, Vice Principals and teachers;</p><p>?Create and/or facilitate programs to support well-being and success;</p><p>?participate in networking and coalition building with teachers and the wider community;</p><p>?perform other related duties within this classification and other related classifications not exceeding skills and capabilities, as required;</p><p>?continually assess and address ongoing needs;</p><p>?Dedication to anti-racism, equity, and diversity;</p><p>?Proven commitment to Truth and Reconciliation;</p><p>?Proven ability to build collaborated cultures founded on integrity and collective purpose.</p><div><strong><br><br></strong></div> <div><strong>Qualifications:</strong></div><p>?Post-secondary education in an area of study related to human services is an asset;</p><p>?Demonstrated successful leadership experience and the ability to lead groups in small and large settings;</p><p>?Experience working with adults would be an asset, ex. parent workshops;</p><p>?Experience applying computer/technology skills;</p><p>?Ability to produce proposals, reports, using data;</p><p>?Experience working with Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups is required;</p><p>?An understanding of ?The Land, The People, and The Stories? in the context of working with Indigenous families</p><p>?A knowledge and understanding of the various relevant population groups within the Winnipeg School Division is preferred;</p><p>?Experience working with the students, families and communities of the Winnipeg School Division is preferred;</p><p>?Knowledge of child development an asset;</p><p>?Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;</p><p>?Ability to collaborate with school staff and provide support;</p><p>?Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;</p><p>?High level of initiative and effective time management skills;</p><p>?Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work;</p><p>?Positions may include driving between schools and partnerships;</p><p>?Must have a valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle.</p> <p> <strong>How to apply:</strong></p> <div> <div> Click the button "Apply Online" and log into your account.
