Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Develop survey plans, methods and procedures for conducting legal surveys. Prepare all data and documents related to surveys of real property boundaries. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Plan, direct and supervise or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries of properties. Record all measurements and other information obtained during survey activities. Analyze, manage and display data using geographic information systems and computer-aided design and drafting. Determine precise locations using electronic distance measuring equipment. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Project. Field skills experience: Operate survey equipment. Survey specialization: Construction. Engineering. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail.
