*Job Summary:*
We are looking for a compassionate and responsible *Overnight Peer Support* worker to provide overnight assistance and emotional support for clients in our bed-based addiction and mental health treatment centre. This role ensures a safe and structured environment throughout the night, responding to emergencies, following facility protocols, and supporting clients as needed. The *Overnight Peer Support* worker also assists with light housekeeping duties and helps prepare for the morning routine, including continental breakfast prep.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Client Support:* Be available for clients during the overnight hours, offering emotional support and guidance as needed.
* *Crisis Management:* Respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
* *Facility Safety:* Conduct routine checks and ensure clients are adhering to facility rules and guidelines overnight.
* *Nightly Checks:* Perform scheduled rounds throughout the night to monitor client safety and well-being.
* *Documentation:* Maintain thorough and accurate records of overnight incidents, client interactions, and facility observations.
* *Housekeeping & Organization:* Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.
* *Morning Routine Assistance:* Help prepare continental breakfast, ensuring a smooth transition for clients as they start their day.
* *Communication:* Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate staff to ensure continuity of care.
* *Collaboration:* Work closely with day staff and clinical teams to maintain consistency in treatment and recovery support.
* *Policy Adherence:* Follow all facility protocols and regulations to ensure a secure and compliant environment for clients.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
* Previous experience in peer support, addiction recovery, mental health, or residential care preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients in recovery.
* Ability to stay alert and responsive during overnight shifts.
* Basic knowledge of crisis intervention strategies.
* Understanding of addiction and mental health recovery principles.
* Ability to follow safety protocols and handle emergency situations professionally.
* *Ability to complete thorough documentation of nightly checks and incidents.*
* CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).
