Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Area of specialization: Engine repair. Alignment, steering and suspension. Brake system. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Flexibility.
