Kate Hewko is a women's fashion brand specializing in fashion for the one-of-a-kind human.
In partnership with the Canada Summer Jobs program, we are looking for a bright and ambitious individual interested in starting a career in e-commerce, particularly in women's fashion. Must be willing and able to work on location in Calgary.
You will initially rotate through multiple departments, then be assigned a track based on a combination of your aptitudes, skills, and the company's needs.
This position is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to various aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate will rotate through key departments, gaining
hands-on experience and developing a holistic understanding of the business. *Ideally, this*
*will continue in a permanent role after the Canada Summer Jobs period ends.*
You will gain experience in fulfillment, inventory management, marketing, customer service, and basic finance fundamentals.
By the end of training, you will have the following skills:
- Be able to complete cash flow forecasts based on sales
- Be able to analyze front-end UX on the website to optimize CRO
- Be able to answer customer concerns or inquiries
- Be able to pick and pack online orders
- Be able to update product listings and metafield data on Shopify
- Be able to analyze product sell-through rate, return rate, and COGS to make recommendations
- Be able to create and submit purchase orders
- Be able to analyze ad performance in Meta's Ad Manager dashboards; understand MER and ROAS and how to calculate them
- Be able to use an assortment of common e-commerce software, including Shopify, Loop, Rise, Treet, Flow, and much more.
*Qualities we're looking for:*
- Willing to learn: you don't have to have a degree in business; as long as you're willing to put in the work, we can train you.
- Adaptable: as a small business, every day can bring something new. We strive to bring order to the chaos, but sometimes things move fast!
- Team player: some days you might be helping the marketing team make a new reel; some days you might be helping fulfillment catch up from a flash sale; some days you might be deep in the weeds on product analytics.
- Attentive to detail: we are striving toward excellence, and the devil's in the details. A lot of this job involves troubleshooting, which requires a keen and observant eye. (For example: maybe you spot that the add to cart button is being buggy, causing conversion rates to drop. Maybe you catch a typo in a coupon code before the email goes out. Maybe you notice a quality issue on a recent restock. These are the kinds of issues that win the day in e-comm!)
- Bias toward action: you value getting sh\*t done. :)
*Requirements*
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Located in or willing to commute to Calgary, Alberta
- Available for full-time work (approximately 30-40 hours per week)

The median wage is the salary of a given occupation where half the workers earn more than that amount, and half earn less. This information is presented on job postings to help job seekers determine how the salary compares to the amount earned by other workers working the same job. Job Bank preferred indicating the median wage, which is less affected by extremely high or low wages, rather than the average wage which is calculated by adding up all the salaries of a group of people and then dividing that total by the number of people.
