Economic Development OfficerThe District of Fort St. James is seeking a permanent full-time Economic Development Officer (EDO). Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) the EDO is responsible for working in conjunction with the CAO, Mayor and Council and other managing staff to establish short and long-term economic development initiatives for the District of Fort St. James. The EDO will work with community groups, first nations, and industry to promote community and economic development diversification in the District of Fort St. James. The ideal candidate will identify grant opportunities, research and prepare grant proposals, and complete necessary reporting requirements to further the goals and economic initiatives of the District of Fort St. James.QualificationsApplicants must have a bachelor?s degree in a relevant field, and 2-5 years? experience in community economic development including proven management supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Knowledge and experience with grant research, writing proposals and managing reports.
