Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Private company, corporation or industry. Plastics manufacturing. Manufacture. Fixture manufacturer. Exhibit and display designer. Tasks: Adapt existing illustrations. Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations. Produce 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations. Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials. Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials. Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives. Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements. Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides. Prepare shop drawings. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Prepare design concepts, sketches or models for approval. Develop and prepare design sketches. Analyze the intended use of products and user preferences. Conduct online marketing, E-commerce and Website promotions. Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements. Prepare manufacturing drawings, specifications and guidelines for production and construct prototype of design. Computer-aided design (CAD). Program CNC machine tools. Design methods: Visual communication. Illustration. Drafting. Detailed visualization. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. InDesign. Adobe Suite. MS Office. Social Media. Adobe Illustrator.
