Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Estimate costs and materials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Backflow prevention Certification. Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Natural Gas License. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?.
