Work involves assisting clients to reach occupational performance goals by carrying out specific treatment activities assigned by the Occupational Therapist. Examples include working with clients to enhance independence in self-care occupations, fabricating assistive devices, and modifying wheelchairs to enhance independence and function. Work also involves attending to general departmental organizational activities such as inventory control.Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved Occupational Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant Program is required. Experience in a health care setting would be an asset.NOTE: If no applicants meet the required qualifications the employer is prepared to consider applicants who are currently enrolled in an approved Rehabilitation Assistant Program with the intention of completion within three (3) years from date of enrollment in the course.Physiotherapy Support Workers and Rehabilitation Assistants also encouraged to apply.
