Position Summary
The Community Development Worker is an 8-week full-time student placement position through Canada Summer Jobs. The Worker will be responsible for support our programming and promoting Rebound Child & Youth Services throughout Northumberland County. You will work alongside the Outreach and Fund Development Coordinator to champion Rebound?s Mission and Vision in the community, as well as live and breathe Rebound?s culture code, with a passion for promoting the well-being of children and youth.
Roles and Responsibilities
? Develop and implement a community development and outreach plan to promote Rebound throughout Northumberland County
? Support Rebound summer programs (ex. Camps) to be able to share learnings during outreach
? Create outreach materials (posters, post cards, displays, slideshows) to be used during outreach activities
? Visit local community and youth spaces and local festivals and events to promote Rebound
? Research and develop lists/information documents to be used for outreach and fundraising
? Create social media posts to share outreach activities
? Support outreach initiatives for Rebound Events
? Perform administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or designate
Working Conditions
? Full Time temporary, 35 hours/week ? 8 weeks July - August starting July 7, 2025
? Flexibility in work hours, including ability to work weekends/evenings for purposes of program delivery and attendance at activities and events when necessary
? Driving/travelling to program locations and other events
? Requires working in shared open-concept office space, in a busy environment with frequent distractions Qualifications, Experience, and Requirements
To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program, you must:
? be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
? be currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution, and planning to return there in the fall;
? be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
? have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:
? Be pursuing a post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, marketing, business, fund development, or related field
? Interest in public relations, marketing, communications, and/or fundraising
? Experience using a variety of social media platforms, and an excellent working knowledge of MS Office programs as well as an understanding basic website development
? Working knowledge of not-for-profit operations is preferred but not mandatory
? Superior written and verbal communications skills
? Handle multiple priorities and competing deadlines
? Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
? Exceptional interpersonal skills that promote positive team building and collaboration
? Ability to work independently with high level of accountability, and as part of a team.
? Valid driver?s license and a reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 insurance liability is an asset
? Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector search.
