Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various makes and models of vehicles. You will ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to provincial and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and electrical.
* Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid level checks.
* Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to assess vehicle issues.
* Communicate repair needs and cost estimates clearly with service advisors and customers.
* Complete work orders and repair documentation accurately.
* Follow all Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and shop safety procedures.
* Stay updated with new automotive technologies and attend training sessions when required.
* Test-drive vehicles to confirm proper operation after repairs.
* Maintain tools and work area in clean and safe condition.
Qualifications:
* Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification (Red Seal endorsement preferred).
* Valid Alberta Class 5 driver?s license with a clean driving record.
* *At least 3 years of experience in Automotive repair*
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and repair databases.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment.
Work Conditions:
* Full-time hours with occasional overtime.
* Indoor shop environment with exposure to noise, grease, and machinery.
* May be required to work on weekends or evenings depending on shop hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per year
