Join Our Team School District 72 is seeking a District Numeracy Coordinator to join our team of professionals who strive to bring the districts learning beliefs to life.<p> School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students. The district respects and values the relationships with all First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit peoples who reside in these territories. It is with respectful consideration that the programs and services provided to students and staff acknowledge their histories, cultural contributions, and contemporary concerns. About the Role <p> Participate in the development of a District Numeracy Framework using evidence based pedagogical practice and assessment.<p> Leading and supporting district curriculum implementation initiatives related to numeracy.<p> Collecting and interpreting assessment data related to numeracy; planning, observing, mentoring and/or co-teaching.<p> Planning and implementing district-based in-service opportunities which may be outside of the normal school day.<p> Collaborating with other district staff to ensure an integrated approach to the diverse needs of learners in our schools.<p> Working with a team to recommend and distribute district resources related to numeracy. Bring your Expertise A valid BC Certificate of Qualification through the Ministry of Education.<p> Specific coursework and/or demonstrated success in current numeracy instruction and assessment practices.<p> Extensive experience teaching numeracy/math in a classroom.<p> Current and solid knowledge of and experience with BC Mathematics curriculum at elementary and intermediate levels.<p> Knowledge and expertise in SEL embedded instruction, assessment and resources related to early numeracy.<p> Experience in mentoring and deliver
