Youth Impact Jeunesse is a large accredited and charitable organization that has distinguished itself as a leader in the delivery of residential and community outreach services for at-risk youth. With more than 280 dedicated staff, the agency strives to make a positive difference in the lives of youth and their families by providing support and teaching them helpful skills needed to succeed. Currently Youth Impact Jeunesse operates fourteen residential facilities in seven different communities across New Brunswick. It also offers six community outreach programs within the Greater Moncton area.
The ideal candidates will have education, knowledge and experience related to supporting youth and families in building skills and competencies that will help them achieve their goals and success in life. They will demonstrate an ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively with others. They will have a high level of commitment to helping families and ensuring the program is successful in meeting its goals.
*Job Responsibilities and Duties (included but not limited to)*
· Manage a case load of families ensuring regular meetings to provide services.
· Ensure that the outcomes of the program are met.
· Responsible for meeting with families referred from the Department of Social Development. (Meetings will most often happen in the community, in the family home)
· Develop relationships with families and assist them in identifying their barriers to set appropriate goals for the family unit.
· Teaching and implementing skills related to parenting.
· Report writing and related documentation.
· Research resources to assist families in implementing the skills necessary for growth and stability.
· Work collaboratively with the direct supervisor on program development.
*Skills and Experience*
· Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently.
· Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
· Strong organizational, time management, and creative skills.
· Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
· Report writing and maintain participant program files.
· Strong relationship building skills.
· Awareness of community resources
· Positive stress management and self-care skills
· Past work experience in the field of youth care work or family counselling is a strong asset.
· Able to work flexible hours and weekends if necessary.
· Bilingualism (English/French) considered a strong asset.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver?s license.
*Educational Requirements*
College diploma or minimum of two years University successfully completed in a Human Services related field.
Candidates being considered for employment will be subject to Vulnerable Sector/Criminal Record Check, and background check completed by the Department of Social Development.
