Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Museology/museum studies. Work setting: Urban area. Museum. Tasks: Operate audio-visual equipment. Prepare reports. Assist in the research, handling and storage of artifacts. Classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts and supervise inventory control. Construct displays and dioramas, build models, install artifacts in displays and prepare artifacts for storage and shipping. Fabricate custom frames, measure and cut mats, mat enhancements and glass, and mount paintings, photographs and other art work. Protect and care for cultural artifacts and collections during exhibitions, while in transit and in storage. Computer and technology knowledge: Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Photoshop. MS Office. SketchUp. Technical experience: Cataloging. Conservation and restoration. Curatorial assisting. Exhibit preparation. Picture Framing. Registration. Exhibit preparation experience: Lighting. Mounting/installing objects. Matting prints and drawings. Framing paintings, photographs etc.. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability.
