*Position: Event Coordinator*
Employer: _The Terry Fox Foundation_ ? Edmonton
Opportunity: Temporary, Contract 35 hour per week position
Demonstrate your communication skills, organizational and leadership strengths in a not-for-profit organization with a world leading brand and reputation ? _The Terry Fox Foundation_. This position will require you to develop and implement a communication and promotion plan that is measurable and tangible so that you can showcase results upon completion of the contract.
As we are still rebuilding after the pandemic, this position will also showcase your ability to identify and approach potential supporters as well as encourage past teams and individuals to sign up again. The goal is for each individual and/or team to create their own fundraising goal. This year, the _Terry Fox Run?s_ theme is _#NoMatterWhat _and Canadians are encouraged to share what Terry Fox means to them.
*Role Summary:*
- Position is primarily in-person with a small percentage of work to be completed remotely
- Build and execute a promotion and communication plan focused on reaching targets set with the Organizing Team
- Build/create social media content (visual and written) based on local stories
- Compile list of potential supporters and complete ?cold calls? to build event support (financial and participation)
- Work as part of the group?s efforts to recruit volunteers for the _Terry Fox Run Edmonton_ organization
- Manage/staff a _Terry Fox Edmonton _booth at various Edmonton events and festivals over the summer
*Qualifications:*
- Applicants must live in the greater Edmonton area, have a valid driver?s license, and have access to a vehicle
- Post-Secondary students are preferred
- Self-motivated individual, comfortable working with a minimum of day-to-day supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are key
- Appreciation of the steps required to promote a brand with attention to detail and professionalism
- Strong time management, organizational and project development skills
- Social media experience with drafting and editing proficiency
- Leadership skills and enjoy working as part of a team
- Self-motivated candidate that is comfortable working with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Awareness of Terry Fox and working knowledge of _The Terry Fox Foundation_

Successful applicant must be: between 16 and 30 years of age; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred; and someone who may legally work according to the relevant Alberta legislation & regulations.
