CULTURAL ADVISOR AND CREE INSTRUCTOR REQUIRED <p>For ST. PAUL SCHOOL DIVISION <p>St. Paul Education requires a 0 . 75 FTE Cultural Advisor and 0 .25 FTE Cree Language Instructor commencing the 20 24 - 25 school year. <p>St. Paul Education is located in St. Paul, Alberta and serves approximately 3700 students at 18 school sites. <p>The successful candidate will: Provide assistance to the Cree language and culture instructors with the planning and delivery of lessons in collaboration with the FNMI Program Coordinator.<p> Promote communication and positive relationships between the division schools and community.<p> Serve as a Key member of our Division Indigenous Learning Committee, which will spearhead initiatives from our Division Plan for Truth and Reconciliation.<p> Assist with planning division or school events (e.g., feasts, round dances, Orange Shirt Day Ceremonies, National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebrations, school and division Pow wows, etc.). <p> Work as part of a team to advance restorative practices within our division. <p> Serve as a Cree Language instructor at the St. Paul Regional High School. Ideally the successful candidate will have a Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education and be a fluent Cree speaker. We also serve students from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, Frog Lake First Nation and Kehewin Cree Nation.<p>In 1995, parent and community stakeholders initiated the amalgamation of five school boards into what is now St. Paul Education. In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board. The Divisions religious, linguistic and cultural diversity is a source of strength and pride.<p>We serve 3,625 students (K-12), including Catholic, First Nation, Mennonite, Hutterite and Home Schooling learners. Our 19 definable school sites are staffed by approximately 240 FTE teaching staff and 345 support staff.
