JOB POSTING <p> Superior-Greenstone District School Board is Seeking:<p>Non-Union Anishinaabe Language SpeakersPosition/Vacancy: <p>Anishinaabemowin Language Speaker Position - Non-Union (8 total positions)<p>4- First Language Speakers<p>4- Second Language Speakers<p>Site/Location: <p>George O'Neill Public School<p>(4 Day Summer Immersion Program, plus planning days, 6 days in total) POSITION DETAILS/QUALIFICATIONS <p>Summary:<p>Superior-District School Board invites community members with a passion language revitalization with young children, to participate in this summers Anishinaabemowin Immersion Camp taking place in July. Working with children between the ages of ?ve (5) to nine (9) there are multiple opportunities to share your language, culture, traditions, and experience with the next generation. If you have a passion for children and a desire to support childrens learning journey, we encourage you to step forward.<p>For information, please reach out to Manager of Indigenous Education, Shy-Anne Bartlett at sbartlett@sgdsb.on.ca Quali?cations:<p> Self-identify as Anishinaabe and be ?uent in Anishinaabemowin as a ?rst or second language.<p> Work with small groups of children (up to 5 students at a time with immersion support person) to support language acquisition in an immersive setting (ages 5-9)<p> Facilitation groups will be organized based on the individual strengths and skills of the Fluent speakers (eg. music, beading, cooking, storytelling, sports)<p> Support conversation in Anishinaabemowin for children to hear and interact in Anishinaabemowin (students are allowed to speak in English or Anishinaabemowin);<p> Responsibilities: Provide direct support to students engaged in the immersion program.<p> Support the implementation of culture and tradition through an immersive language program.<p> Work one to one or in small groups with students.<p> Communicate with the support team to regularly share school needs, challenges and successes. Additional Competencies and Skills Display excellent interpersonal skills while building positive relationships.<p> An open to learning stance and asset-oriented approach to students.<p> Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills.<p> An ability to build positive professional relationships.<p> Organizational strategies and skills as a self-directed learner. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and System Leaders <p>Applications MUST include a complete summary of education and work experience. Applicants must also submit the names of three (3) professional references, one of which must be a current or most recent immediate supervisor, along with telephone numbers and email addresses, and a written authorization from the applicant permitting the Board to contact these references.
