Employment Opportunity Director of Engagement and High School Completion Northland School Division is now inviting applications for the role of Director of Engagement and High School Completion for the 2024-2025 school year. You can learn more about what Northland School Division has to offer by visiting www.nsd61.ca/careers.Major Responsibilities include: Student Learning: Support students in meeting the standards of education set by the Minister.Provide support for educational transformation initiatives and appropriate programming for diverse learners.Assist with high school redesign and completion initiatives and support the expansion of high school programming.Identify, support, and implement curricular programs that promote technological literacy and increase post-secondary/career readiness.Student Wellness: Ensure each student is provided with a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environment that respects diversity and fosters a sense of belonging.Develop and maintain positive and effective relations with provincial government departments and community agencies.Perform the role of Attendance Officer, ensuring compliance with strategies and monitoring student attendance patterns.Human Resources Management: Supervise, evaluate, and review the performance of all direct reports.Support staff in accessing the professional learning and capacity building needed to meet the needs of learners.Fiscal Responsibility: Make recommendations regarding staff and funding allocations.Develop a departmental budget within the Division's budget parameters.Ensure the proper fiscal management of budget allocations.Policy/Administrative Procedures: Recommend development or revisions of Board policies or administrative procedures.Ensure application of Board policies and administrative procedures in the performance of duties.Organizational Management: Demonstrate effective organizational skills, ensuring compliance with all legal, Ministerial, and Board mandates.Handle emergencies and crisis situations in a collaborative and cohesive fashion.Communications and Community Relations: Ensure open, transparent communications both internally and externally.Promote the Division's vision and Three-Year Education Plan.Foster close ties and develop partnerships with community agencies.Associate Superintendent Relations: Maintain positive, professional working relations with the Associate Superintendent.Support the implementation of the Board's roles and responsibilities.Leadership Practices: Practice leadership in a manner that is supportive of the Associate Superintendent's expectations and is respected by peers.Qualifications and Requirements include: Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Leadership Quality Standard certificate.Must hold a Master's degree or willingness to complete a Master's degree within a mutually agreed upon timeline.Has a minimum of 5 successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.Interested applicants are asked to submit a resume including the names of three (3) employer references by May 29, 2024 to: Krista Veitch, Associate Superintendent, Human Resources, Northland School Division.
