Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Record and balance daily transactions
  • Prepare payroll
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Prepare income tax
  • Prepare income tax returns from accounting records
  • Prepare journal entry
  • Prepare monthly statements
  • Plan for translation and interpretation services
  • Maintain and manage digital database
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations
  • Audit accounting records to determine income, exemptions, payable taxes, compliance with reporting regulations and existence of fraud
  • Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, the Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements
  • Compile, verify, record and process applications, licences, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms and documents
  • Provide consultation on planning and starting of new businesses.
  • Prepare reports and audit findings
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Translate a variety of written material
  • Interpret for persons speaking an Aboriginal or foreign language
  • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and administer contracts and other documents
