Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Drywall Finisher Trade Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sound discrimination. Standing for extended periods. Tight deadlines. Walking. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Hard hat. Mask.
