*Job Title:* Physiotherapist, Full Time

*Job Description: *Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team under the direct supervision of the Director of Care to meet residents' care needs.
*Education Required:*
* Graduate of a University Physiotherapy Program
* Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (NSCP)
* Police check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Request in the *last 3 months* is required
*Competencies:*
* Effective communication both written and verbal in English with residents, families and co-workers
* Strong moral and ethics along with a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality in all aspects of the organization
* Excellent time management and multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
* Problem identification and problem resolution skills
* High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
* Reliable with good attendance and cheerful disposition
* Maintenance of a clean and sanitary environment
* Possesses exemplary Customer Service skills
* Respectful and hardworking team player
*Responsibilities:*
* Carry out assessments and suitable treatments and exercises designed to increase mobility of residents
* Assess residents for safe movement
* Maintain progress notes and chart on resident?s progress
* Instruct and guide PTA
* Communicate resident?s progress with other members of care team
* Assist the OT in assessing and prescribing of assistive or adaptive equipment
* Maintain open communication with residents, family members, and staff
* Participate in various committees, including but not limited to, OH&S, Lift and Transfers and Falls Prevention
* Provide staff training on proper body mechanics and safe use of equipment
* An active interest in continuing education
