*Seeking family law clerk.* *Primary Activities:* * Responsible for day to day management of family law files assigned by supervising lawyer * Draft pleadings, Affidavits, motion material, and materials for case conferences, settlement conferences and trial management conferences * Ability to continuously move matter forward * Draft correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, courts and other parties * Serve as an intermediary by telephone, correspondence and e-mail communication between clients, courts, opposing counsel and other parties * Compile complex financial statements, including review and analysis of corporate financial statements and business valuations * Maintain a solid bring forward system * Docket time spent on files * Knowledge of court portal system * Knowledge of small claims proceedings * Knowledge of civil proceedings *Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:* * Minimum 5 years? relevant experience within the Family Law practice area * Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on delivery of excellent service to our clients * Relevant post-secondary education * Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * Knowledge of software platform CLIO * Thorough knowledge of Family Law Rules, legal procedures and statutes * Knowledge of corporations * Highly organized Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $70,000.00 per year Benefits: * Casual dress * On-site gym * Paid time off Flexible Language Requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Monday to Friday Supplemental pay types: * Overtime pay Ability to commute/relocate: * Calgary, AB T2P 3R7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: * legal assistant: 10 years (required) Work Location: In person Application deadline: 2024-05-31 Expected start date: 2024-06-03- LocationCalgary, AB
