Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. Place metal pieces in furnace. Remove metal pieces from furnace when colour or metal indicates proper forging temperature. Move and align subassemblies and components. Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery. Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors or hydraulic assemblies. Equipment and machinery experience: Automatic conveyor. Drills. Forging press. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Shears. Soldering or welding equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads.
