Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Naturopathic medicine/naturopathy (ND). Work setting: Physician's office. Private clinic. Testing. Tasks: Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments . Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Conduct disease screening. Engage in research activities related to nursing. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Provide nursing care. Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming. Perform administrative tasks. Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required . Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Intravenous (IV) therapy Certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Area of specialization: Naturopathy. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone.
