The FSQA Technician, PM Shift monitors compliance on the production floor and implements Food Safety and Quality programs.*Please note this is a PM shift role*WHY WORK AT CONESTOGA MEATS?Growing company with opportunity to grow with team and departmentStable full-time hours; no rotating shiftsEmployee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire)Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of servicePension plan and company matching at 1 year of serviceFloater day given on top of vacation daysDiverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languagesDiscounts on quality pork productsEmployee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources)Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games)BBQ's and wellness programsOn-site training and company provided equipmentEmployee scholarship program and English coursesKEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Back up for different roles including HIP Tech and MSIP TechAssist in Independent FSQA Audit Program - GMP/Food Safety & BRC AuditsAssist in implementation of the QA Program - Quality Management, supplier quality conformance and customer compliant processAssist in supplier approval process including record keepingParticipates in daily specification evaluation to identify possible defectsAssist with Validation studiesAccurately complete required forms/checklistsAble to lead and drive completion of Root Cause AnalysisAudit processes and help to identify opportunities for improvementsParticipate in operational project teams for quality improvement and/or cost reductionTrending and verification of corrective action effectiveness for Customer complaints, supplier issues and other non-conformancesDistribution Center food safety program auditorDomestic product inspectorAdhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followedPersonal DevelopmentAttending company required trainingRemain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibilityAttend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessionsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Food Science, Microbiology, or Human Ecology requiredPost-Secondary Education in Food Science or a related field preferred1-2 years of food manufacturing experienceKnowledgeable of and able to be trained on procedures, programs, and systems, including but not limited to: Incoming ingredients, Rework, Environmental and sanitation, Hold and Release program, Consumer complaints investigationsExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word)Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general program instructions.
