Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Supermarket or bakery department. Tasks: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays. Prepare special orders. Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Inspect kitchen and food service areas. Organize and maintain inventory.
