Steele Auto Group has an opening for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Dartmouth, NS! This opportunity offers a hybrid work model.The Part-Time Payroll Administrator plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee recordkeeping. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong grasp of payroll regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm. Alternating weeks: Week 1, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Week 2, Monday, Wednesday. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are metRun payroll processing activities including new hires, terminations, timekeeping, and employee changesReconcile payroll results and perform audit checksFollow proper procedures for payroll sign off/approvalRun monthly/quarterly reportsConduct quarterly balancing of year end totalsUpdate processing documentation as neededAct as day-to-day liaison with dealership designated contacts for payroll-related processingTimely review and resolution of issuesHighlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact running the payrollsProcess relevant tax forms for employeesMaintain up to date knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation, and systemsProcess forms such as ROE, tax forms, remittancesKeeping employee profile data up to dateRequirements:Post-Secondary education with a focus on accounting1-3 years of previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar rolePCP designation would be considered an assetKnowledge of MS Office, with an intermediate focus on ExcelUKG experience would be considered an assetKnowledge of year-end processing required for all provincesAble to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are metWe sincerely thank our applicants interested in this opportunity and wish to advise that only candidates invited for an interview will be contacted.
