Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Tasks: Direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Maintain work records and logs. Read blueprints and drawings. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Operate heavy equipment. Maintain internal record-keeping system. Co-ordinate project. Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment. Supervision: 3-4 people. Staff in various areas of responsibility. Equipment and machinery experience: Pick-up truck. Small engine equipment. Tractor mower. Skidsteer. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
