Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Various locations. Transportation, communication and utilities. Excavation. Tasks: Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies. Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed. Observe excavation work to ensure that underground facilities are protected. Assist in constructing underground installations. Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment. Read blueprints and drawings. Read and interpret work orders. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Maintenance and repair reports. Types of systems: Underground conduits and piping. Type of trucking and equipment: Hydrovac. Type of heavy equipment operated: Trencher, large or small. Backhoe excavator, loader. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Cables and winches. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Area of work experience: Trenching. Backfilling. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Large workload.
