We're in search of an experienced Law Clerk to join our Corporate team at our Hamilton office. The successful candidate will provide vital assistance to our professionals on a variety of corporate legal matters. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of corporate law, exceptional organizational abilities, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
*Responsibilities:*
- Draft a diverse array of documents independently, including incorporations, amendments, and dissolutions, managing all necessary filings and documentation meticulously.
- Handle the preparation, filing, and upkeep of business name registrations for various entities.
- Manage extra-provincial registrations and licenses efficiently.
- Conduct thorough reviews and maintenance of minute books.
- Assist with complex tasks such as corporate reorganizations, financings, and due diligence processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff within the department.
- Conduct comprehensive searches, analyze findings, and prepare detailed reports.
- Research and analyze legal issues, processes, and legislation as needed.
- Initiate follow-up actions when required and prepare reports as necessary.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:*
- Possession of a Law Clerk/Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Law Clerk/Paralegal.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor in client interactions and internal collaborations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in legal research methodologies.
- Developing skills in coaching and mentoring junior law clerks.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and government regulations.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
- Ability to analyze legal documents with precision.
- Consistent delivery of high-quality work, even under tight deadlines.
- Strong prioritization skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
