Job details
Education: Master's degree. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Early intervention programming for at-risk youth. Work setting: Counselling centres. Rural area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Social service or charity agency. Tasks: Conduct program evaluations. Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans . Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Examine the behaviour. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Interview patients . Record observations. Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels. Prepare a treatment plan for each patient. Provide education to clients regarding health promotion and injury prevention, management and treatment. Provide therapy. Perform administrative tasks. Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions. Maintain accurate records. Participate in fundraising activities. Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in a provincial or territorial psychological association.
