In fact, Acadian Seaplants has achieved Platinum Status for the past ten years!Your role:The Plant Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting the capital and operational engineering program for all Acadian Seaplants Limited (ASL) Manufacturing and Harvesting Facilities. The work will be multidisciplinary in nature and primarily focused on manufacturing production facilities.As the Plant Engineer, you will provide technical support and drive continuous improvement in process capability, capacity, and productivity at ASL manufacturing and harvesting facilities to ensure safe and optimal utilization. The Plant Engineer implements capital and operational projects within scope, budget, schedule and safety standards.This role is Onsite based in Cornwallis Park, NS in the beautiful Annapolis Valley.Responsibilities:Provide technical advice and support to resolve complex technical problems.Use tools such as statistical analysis to improve process capability as well as failure analysis methodology to investigate, find root causes, recommend, and implement equipment modifications, upgrades, and implement process improvements.Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs.Undertake the design, procurement, and installation of new processes & equipment.Ensure all product and process changes are implemented in line with appropriate Management of Change (MOC) principles.Ensure all projects are managed in line with appropriate Project Management (PM) principles & standards.Develop specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for process and equipment operation.Provide training to manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes.Participate in Process Hazards Analysis for key production/capital projects.Assist the ASL maintenance team with equipment repairs of stationery and rotating equipment by working with original equipment manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers, and outside repair shops.Support and implement new product and process runs and prepare relevant documentation.Support efforts to implement and maintain Facility Certifications.Support operations on-site and remotely in resolving technical issues.Engineering Design work for process, mechanical, electrical, and automation systemsEquipment design and adaptation / improvementEquipment, material, component specifications & procurementProcess & equipment improvementQualificationsBachelor of Engineering DegreeP.Eng. registration with Engineers Nova Scotia or ability to become registeredMinimum of 5 years engineering experience in manufacturing or processExperience programming PLC'sProficiency with MS Office applications including MS Project ProfessionalProficiency with AutoCAD and Sketchup (or equivalent CAD software)Experience in process design and layout, process control and automation, piping system design, pumps, agitation systems, equipment installationExperience with Allen Bradley automation systems considered an assetProject management and construction experience considered an assetExperience in and with: Lean manufacturing; Project management; Project scope definition; Project budget estimation & cost control; Project planning & schedule control; Project execution as per the project scope, schedule and budget; Project monitoring & reporting; Supervise and support construction and project execution activitiesWhy Work With Us:Acadian Seaplants Limited ('
