Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.<p> We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team: <p>Coordinator, Autism and Developmental Disabilities<p> 100% Regular/Continuing<p>Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week<p>$67,900 to $79,900 (Union Exempt, Level 5)Under the direction of the System Principal of Learning Support Services and the general guidance of the Program Manager, Educational Assistants, the Coordinator takes a lead role in coordinating and supporting Ministry of Education initiatives across the District for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism); participating in the Ontario Autism Program, Dedicated Space and Entry to School Program and other board initiatives. Responsible for consultation, case management (IOL), training and resource development utilizing the Principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis to meet the needs of exceptional students at all age levels. <p> Qualifications <p> Post-secondary education in Autism/Behavioural Studies or a related field and 5 years of related experience working with students with Autism and Developmental Disabilities, families/caregivers and professionals in a school setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered; <p> Experience in delivering workshops and/or professional learning to a wide variety of audiences with varying levels of experience with Autism; <p> Member in good standing with the Ontario Association for Behavior Analysis or other recognized professional organization is considered an asset; <p> Extensive knowledge in the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and general knowledge of the current Ontario curriculum; <p> Knowledge and understanding of relevant Board policies and procedures; <p> Interpersonal and communication skills required for collaborating and interacting with a variety of stakeholders, and for dealing with contentious issues with tact, diplomacy and discretion. Written communication skills for the preparation of reports and presentation documents; <p> Ease in presenting to others in a small or large group setting; <p> Demonstrates ability to plan, organize and facilitate professional development for school board staff at all levels; <p> Organizational skills, including time management techniques for planning, organizing and juggling multiple demands and priorities; <p> Research and analytical skills for gathering, evaluating, and analyzing data and information from a range of sources. <p> Proficient in the use of computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets and other relevant software, to accomplish work.
