Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Work setting: Commercial. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Prepare tenders and quotations. Instruct apprentices. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Large workload. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots.
