Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
  • Inspect finished products for proper functioning
  • Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts
  • Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations
  • Maintain test result reports
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects
  • Complete detailed inspection documentation
  • Communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
