Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Child welfare. Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Work setting: Group home. Various locations. Tasks: Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Behaviour management Certification. Community disability studies Certificate. Emergency child care first aid and CPR. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. Cultural Awareness Training. Medication Administration Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Target audience: Adolescents. Children. Persons who are blind/visually impaired. Persons with an intellectual disability. Persons with learning disabilities. Persons with mental health disabilities. Persons with physical disabilities.
