The BCPVPA advocates on behalf of its members, and on issues of importance to public education; designs and delivers professional learning and leadership development programs; and represents and supports the employment relationship interests and welfare of its members.<p>Reporting to the Executive Director, and working with both Senior Staff and Support Staff, the Director of Member Support Services will continue the work of building the BCPVPAs reputation for excellent employment relationship support.<p>As a valued member of the BCPVPA team, you thrive in a performance-driven environment that emphasizes employee leadership and accountability for delivering results. Anticipate a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, challenging projects, and a collaborative work environment.Qualifications and Experience: <p>The BCPVPAs next Director, Member Support Services (MSS) has demonstrated success as a district and/or school leader in the BC public school system or equivalent.<p> has extensive and demonstrated knowledge of the BC School Act and School Law, the roles and responsibilities of Principals and Vice-Principals, and the governance model of the BC public education system.<p> has knowledge and demonstrated experience in human resources and/or employment law, with demonstrated strengths in negotiation, contract administration, representation of workers undergoing investigation, and dispute resolution.<p> has demonstrated successful experience providing support to Principals and Vice-Principals, and the ability to develop and nurture positive relationships with multiple sector partner individuals and groups.Requirements of the Role : <p>The BCPVPAs next Director, Member Support Services (MSS) is a key member of the BCPVPAs Senior Staff, representing not only Member Support Services but the BCPVPAs broader goals and objectives<p> provides support and guidance to members, both individually and collectively, regarding employment relationship issues and the negotiation of personal services contracts<p> provides one-to-one support and representation for members undergoing workplace or Teachers Regulation Branch (TRB) investigations<p> consults as required with the BCPVPAs external legal counsel<p> liaises with school districts to advocate on behalf of members<p> designs and delivers workshops and presents on legal and fiduciary issues and matters related to school leadership, employment relationships, and work and non-work-related prevention and disability policies and procedures<p> provides advice and support for members related to the BC Teachers Pension Plan, short term disability leaves, the BCPVPA Long-Term Disability Plan, Occupational Health and Safety, and Workers Compensation<p> works collaboratively with the Professional Learning department and assists in the development and presentation of some Professional Learning workshops<p> provides advice and information to the BCPVPAs Board of Directors as requested by the Executive Director<p> collaborates in the development of print an
