Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Confined spaces. Underground. Work setting: Installation. Maintenance. Testing. Various locations. Repair. Service. Tasks: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Inspect trunking systems . Repair cable signals. Test trunking systems . Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment. Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment. Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software. Complete and maintain test and service reports. Install electromechanical, analog and digital trunking systems, circuits and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres. Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment. Inspect, test and repair cable signals and associated equipment. Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers. Computer and technology knowledge: Trunking system. Telecommunication system.
