Vancouver Language Therapy 4 Kids is excited to welcome a new Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to our growing team!
We are a community based private practice who service all of Vancouver. We provide individualized and comprehensive therapy as well as unique collaborative treatment programs for each of our clients based on a multi-disciplinary and family centred approach. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated CDA to start with our team as soon as possible, start date is negotiable.
This position would be primarily servicing the preschool to high school aged child. Travel is required to homes and schools. Due to COVID, in addition must be able to provide teletherapy via Zoom.
This role will include both clinical work with clients and an administrative portion. The nonbillable hours will include responsibilities such as caseload management, website and social media, client process flows, new client intake, and group coordination. Income is determined by billable hours.
Major Responsibilities:
* Monitor client?s progress and the effectiveness of individualized program.
* Provide support to children based on the goals outlined by the SLP in 1-1 or group format.
* Effectively communicate with parents and outside professionals.
* Work collaboratively with team members in the treatment planning process.
* Administrative responsibilities which can be done from your home. Approximately 60% administrative, 40% client work
Qualifications & Experience:
* Current Police Check / Vulnerable sector Screening.
* Completion of a recognized Speech-Language Assistant Diploma Program, Communicative Disorders Assistant Program, or two (2) year?s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Must be able to work in a team environment and take feedback.
* Must be flexible and able to adapt to change.
* Must be fluent in English (Verbal, Written and Oral).
* Have access to a computer.
* Comfortable working in a variety of settings, family homes, daycares, schools, etc.
* Must be able to sit on the floor with children, be engaging, be able to run, walk at a fast pace and be energetic.
* Must be organized and have excellent time management skills.
* A valid driver?s licence and access to a vehicle is required.
* Experience working with children with ASD & ADHD is an asset (social pragmatic language therapy as well as experience with emerging executive functioning skill development).
