Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Automotive manufacturing. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. General manufacturing. Oil and gas industry. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Repair machine tools and parts. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. Specialized machining processes: Water jet. Equipment and machinery experience: Automatic lathes. Boring machines. Cylindrical grinders. Drill presses. Electrical discharge machine (EDM). Milling machines. Surface grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail.
