Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare floors for installations. Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Install outdoor carpets. Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired). Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Ceramic tiles. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Carpets/rugs. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination.
