Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Civil engineering, general. Masonry/mason. Concrete finishing/concrete finisher. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Construction company. Construction industry. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Read and interpret blueprints. Operate vibrating tables to settle concrete. Fill moulds with concrete. Enforce steel and concrete installation codes. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Civil engineering technology¿(CVT). National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) accreditation. Type of materials: Concrete products. Computer and technology knowledge: CAE - computer-aided engineering. Plant Design Management System (PDMS). Geographic Information System (GIS). 3D graphic software. AutoCAD. MS Project. Primavera. Type of heavy equipment operated: Concrete pumping equipment. Civil engineering experience: Buildings and structures. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Structural engineering. Construction design and supervision. Land planning and development. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines.
