Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Operate disinfection systems. Operate pumping systems. Perform security checks within plant and on grounds. Analyze test results and instrument readings. Complete and maintain plant logs and reports. Monitor and read recording instruments to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems and equipment are operating within prescribed limits. Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the flow of sewage and to treat and dispose of sewage and wastes. Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Repetitive tasks.
