Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dangerous. At heights. Noisy. Confined spaces. Work setting: Fabrication. Various locations. New construction (Not pre-engineered). Tasks: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Signal crane operators to position units according to blueprints. Align, weld or bolt units in place. Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures. Unload and position steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Area of specialization: Erect structural steel. Install reinforcing steel. Assemble and erect metal buildings. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
