Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tasks: Operate heavy equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Operate computer controlled equipment. Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Prepare accident reports. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Supervise workers and projects. Prepare production and other reports. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers. Requisition materials and supplies. Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
